POSITION DESCRIPTION
Our client is in a healthcare facility in Center City, which is in need of a Compensation Analyst to commence in a contractor role that will lead to regular placement. This position will report to the Director of Compensation and Benefits. Upcoming compensation events include the design and implementation of a new compensation program affecting over 1,100 staff and the implementation of a new merit pay program and performance appraisal system.
General duties include the following:
Assist departments and managers in designing new jobs for expansion and reorganizations.
Determine appropriate level and salary for new and replacement positions
Review and make recommendations regarding salary increases.
Assist in design of merit pay program based on performance measures and appraisals.
Conduct and analyze market salary studies and recommend range adjustments.
Conduct salary studies for specific job groups appearing to be inconsistent with the market.
Periodically review salary administration guidelines and recommend changes as needed.
Advise on budgeting issues relating to employee compensation.
Communicate with administrators on issues relating to employee pay; e.g., conduct orientation sessions, meetings, prepare written materials.
Advise on legal and regulatory issues relating to compensation.
This position requires significant experience in administering compensation programs, with preference for experience in a medical center or medical university setting. This position also requires a demonstrated ability in the following areas: ability to work with all levels of employees and management, particularly senior management; excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent computer skills; strong customer service philosophy; familiarity with legal framework for compensation policy. This position requires the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement but also demands collaborative orientation and flexibility. B.A./B.S. degree in Human Resources or related field. Compensation certification preferred.
